    IBM To Take Over Tampa Call Center

    TAMPA - IBM Corp. has won a contract to manage a 500-person call center in Tampa that specializes in handling customer service calls and e-mail for General Motors Corp.

    On Jan.1, IBM officially will take over a facility at 5701 E. Hillsborough Ave. from Sitel Corp. of Omaha, Neb., which has had the GM contract since 1999, said Sitel spokesman Bill Sims.


    Bank of America Officially Opens New Call Center in East Providence

    The Facility Represents a $60 Million Investment into the Local Economy and Will Create Up to 900 New Jobs for Area Residents

    EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Bank of America executives joined Governor Donald Carcieri and other public officials to celebrate the opening of a new call center at 3400 Pawtucket Avenue. The grand opening is the culmination of a partnership between Bank of America and the public sector, and will create up to 900 new jobs for area residents. Bank of America has invested $60 million to construct and staff the center.
